this recipe takes a some work, but trust me it is worth it. This Lasagna recipe is so good hope you will enjoy.....
2 pound sweet Italian sausage
3 pound lean ground beef
2 cup minced onion
1 cloves garlic, crushed
1 can crushed tomatoes
2 cans tomato paste
2 cans canned tomato sauce
2 cup water
1tablespoons of white sugar
1 or 2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
1.5 teaspoon fennel seeds
1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
1 or 1.5 teaspoons salt, divided, or to taste
1.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
15 lasagna noodles
17 ounces ricotta cheese
2 egg
3 pound mozzarella cheese, sliced
3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions:
Step 1:
Stir in crushed tomatoes, ingredient , spaghetti sauce , and water. Season with sugar, basil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, 1 teaspoon salt, pepper, and a couple of tablespoons parsley. Simmer, covered, for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Step 2:
boil the large pot of lightly salted water. Cook lasagna noodles in the boiling water for 7 to 8 minutes. Drain the noodles and rinse with cold water. use a mixing bowl and combine the ricotta cheese with egg remaining parsley and 1 and half teaspoon of salt.
